On Monday morning, Taylor Swift excitedly announced that her “Eras Tour” film would be available for streaming on her birthday, December 13. Swift, who recently concluded the last performance of her 2023 tour in Brazil, took to social media to share the news with her fans.

In a post on her social media accounts, Swift expressed her desire to celebrate the shared experiences of the past year by making “The Eras Tour Concert Film” available for home viewing. The extended version of the film will include additional performances of songs like “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer,” and “Long Live,” which were not part of the theatrical release.

“Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!” she wrote on her social media accounts. “Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer’ and ‘Long Live’ will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13.” Swift wrote.

Despite fans’ hopes for new album announcements, especially with chants of “Reputation” at her Brazil shows, Swift kept album news under wraps. However, the revelation that the extended tour film would be available for streaming may serve as a consolation for Swifties eager for more content.

While the international release details are yet to be disclosed, Swift’s website lists Apple TV, Vudu, Prime Video, Xfinity, Google Play, and YouTube as platforms where fans can rent the film starting December 13.

The original film, released in October, sparked disappointment among some fans due to the omission of several songs from the tour’s setlist. Anticipating this, many fans expected an expanded version when the film became available for home viewing. However, even with the additional performances, it won’t include every song from Swift’s tour.

Despite any setlist discrepancies, Swift continues to make waves both in film and recorded music. The “Eras Tour” film has already grossed $178 million in the United States, setting records for concert films. Additionally, her re-recorded album “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” achieved the best first-week numbers of her career, with 1.6 million album-equivalent units.

As Swift gears up for the next leg of the “Eras Tour,” scheduled to resume on February 7 with a four-night stand at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, her impact on the music industry and her dedicated fanbase remains stronger than ever.
